Real Madrid Captain, Sergio Ramos has opened up on the confrontation between him and Lionel Messi during their 1-0 loss to Barcelona in an El Classico game.
Both players confronted each other twice during the first half of the game. The second confrontation saw Sergio Ramos swiping his hand across Messi’s face, an act which earned him a yellow card. Messi had to be restrained by his teammates.
Reacting to the incident which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu, Sergio Ramos said:
“These things happen in games. I did not mean to catch in him.
“However, he has taken it very badly and stayed down.
“The referee made the decision and that is the end of it for me,” Ramos told Marca.
