Libya returnees arrested while trafficking people back to Libya
Two suspected human traffickers who recently returned to Nigeria from Libya voluntarily, have been arrested at a border crossing in Katsina State, while trafficking four victims to Libya.
The suspects are Omoseyin Solomon Rotimi, 43, from Ondo State, and Omoniyi Olowoporoku, 31, from Edo State. They are both beneficiaries of the ongoing Federal Government evacuation of Nigerians living in Libya.
The rescued victims are, Shedrack Agumadu, Aishat Agbajelola (also a returnee), Akinbiyi Ashabi and Gracious Aghafekokhian.
Katsina state Nigeria Immigration Service Comptroller, Ajisafe Joshua Olusola, said one of the suspects, Rotimi, intended to return two others among who was also a returnee, Aishat Agbajelola.
The duo claimed to be husband and wife when apprehended. According to Olusola, said as soon as the suspects returned to Nigeria, they constituted themselves into very powerful recruitment agents deceiving people with promises of good jobs in Libya or from there to Europe for future education and greener pasture.
